Which is best: Web Application or Stand Alone Application
1. If the goal of your mini project is learning, you can opt for a technology stack that you want to learn. You can go with the web application (if interested) using the client- side stack. It will be a good opportunity for you to learn ASP.Net MVC, Entity Framework or another Framework. You can also go with SQL server, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, Knockout js or some other backend.
2. By Web Application, information can be controlled and accessible from any place and device as per our choice. But the disadvantage of web application is, it always requires internet connection.
4. It will actually depend on the usability- if the application is going to be accessed from one machine then standalone app is good considering speed and resource. If end users are distributed and want to access from remote place then it has to be in web, and ultimately it needs internet connection.
6. The hostel management system project software application is of advantage for computerizing different types of works included in managing student details, payment details, department details, etc. Choose the framework that fulfills most of your requirements more easily.
First, you need to set the goal of your project. Then you must understand the framework on which you have more access. If you are more comfortable with Web Application, go for it. Else, you may give a try for standalone Application. If you are uncertain about both the framework, go with Web application and study it in detail.
