Front end developers are not absolutely easier than other forms of engineering.  When the developer is writing server side codes, he is basically writing in one language on a system with one database implementation. There must be the process of writing code and conforming if it really works.

The reason why it is so:
•  There are many browsers around the world that do bug and implement the same feature in different ways. The upgrade cycle is not controlled by them. There are many devices that have different input methods (like mouse, keyboard, touch) and different output devices (large screen, mobile, Tablets, retina display, screen-reader and assistive technology) and the end user can adapt the output (example: enlarging text, changing the color setting and switching off CSS).
•  The client side requires so much more work as such the developer can’t move away procedural Javascript code anymore and architecturing the solution becomes the necessity.
•  There is constantly a need to learn about new devices, technology, standard and features being developed for implementation in browsers in a faster way.
•   The Development of modern software is dependent on the user. It is not easy to over emphasize the importance or correctness of this change.
•    There is less cut and dried stuff due to which techies less experienced in the front end development fails: SEO, accessibility and usability.  SEO because it is totally based on hints and whisper, while accessibility and usability because the level of acceptable performance is subjective.
•    Once the site goes bigger, it becomes difficult to work on CSS. It becomes very static. Then, the developer needs to concentrate a lot and develop strategies for regression testing effectively.
•    Sometimes, the user may find it difficult to implement with constraints for graphic designs that becomes impossible to deal.
